Indication: Rhinovirus infection

Research: Fifty volunteers participated in a double-blind placebo-controlled study to investigate the effects of Safflorin in rhinovirus infection. Almost half of the participants supplemented with Safflorin four weeks prior to infection, as well as during infection, while the other participants took a placebo. All participants were subjected with a rhinovirus used for the controlled infection.
Results: According to researchers, the volunteers who took Safflorin clearly benefited in that they experienced an overall reduction of symptoms of rhinovirus infection, as well as reduced incidence of sore throat infection. In addition, there was also a reduction in cough.
