Packaged Facts, New York, NY, has released a new report entitled, “Snack Food Trends in the U.S.” The report takes an extensive look into the world of sweet and salty snacks, with individual chapters focusing on trends in healthy and kids’ snacks. Featuring major brand profiles and cross comparisons of products, the report also includes candy, fruit snacks, dried meat snacks and gelatin/pudding cups. According to the report, while Americans feeding their addiction to munchies spent over $61 billion for snack foods in 2005, a greater portion of their cash outlay went to healthier products.
Packaged Facts, in collaboration with San Francisco’s Center for Culinary Development, has also made available the “Culinary Trend Mapping Report: A Bimonthly Journal of Food and Ingredient Insight.” The report assesses wellness in the food industry from three strategic perspectives: the consumer, the professional and the business. It identifies where individual wellness foods and ingredients appear along the trend map taking them from their remote beginnings in white tablecloth establishments to their broad visibility and wide consumer acceptance in the top chain retailers.
