A recent double-blind, placebo controlled study published in the Open Sleep Journal demonstrates that Lactium, a hydrolysate of milk proteins from Pharmachem Laboratories, may significantly improve various aspects of sleep disorders.
Results indicated improvement in sleep quality after 2 weeks of supplementation, along with decreases in sleep latency and daytime dysfunction after 4 weeks. The 5-week study was conducted in Tokyo, Japan, on 32 subjects with insomnia and utilized the Japanese version of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI-J) to evaluate the following sleep parameters: sleep quality, sleep latency (the length of time it takes a person to fall asleep), sleep duration, habitual sleep efficiency, sleep disturbances, use of sleeping medication and daytime dysfunction. Subjects receiving Lactium experienced significant improvement in the areas of sleep quality, sleep latency and daytime dysfunction. For further information: www.lactiumusa.com
