Pharmachem Laboratories Inc. announced the appointment of Tim Bauer as Senior Director, Key Account Development; and Alexis Collins as Manager of Scientific Affairs. Both executives will be based out of Pharmachem’s Kearny, NJ headquarters.

Bauer is charged with planning and implementing a program, in conjunction with the sales force, to further expand Pharmachem’s presence in the food and beverage industry. His responsibilities will include evaluating the company’s ingredients and services, company-wide, and determining where they can best be applied. He will also work closely with the the R&D department to develop new ingredients for the growing food and beverage sectors.

Bauer has more than 25 years experience in the sale, marketing and product development of specialty ingredients to the food and beverage industry. He most recently served as senior director of sales and business development for Robertet Flavors. Prior to that he was North American Sales Director for Cargill’s Health & Food Technology Division.

As a strategic part of the sales and marketing force, Collins is responsible for ingredient evaluation, for current and new ingredients, as well as the updating and dissemination of science-based product information and materials to the sales force. She is also responsible for providing technical support to both the sales team and customers, as needed, regarding the science behind ingredients and their potential applications.

She holds her B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Maryland, and an M.A. in Medical Science from Boston University. She is presently pursuing a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Huntington College of Health Sciences. Before her appointment at Pharmachem Laboratories, Collins served as research associate, new product development for Healthy Directions.
