Superba Krill oil, the flagship ingredient from Aker BioMarine Antarctic US, is now Non-GMO Project Verified. The Non-GMO Project is North America’s only third-party verification and labeling organization for non-GMO food and products. 
 
This certification adds another layer of transparency to the company’s supply chain and shows that all components used to make Superba krill oil contain no genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Superba Krill is already certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as being sustainable and 100% traceable.
 
So far, the Non-GMO Project has verified more than 29,500 products, totaling more than $11 billion in sales. In fact, compared to a year ago, 23% more consumers are buying non-GMO products, according to the Hartman Group’s Organic & Natural 2014 report. Additionally, 40% are avoiding or reducing GMOs in their daily diet.
 
About a third of consumers will abandon a brand because it uses GMOs. In 2013, Whole Foods Market reported sales increases of 15-30% for Non-GMO Project Verified products. Indeed, the Non-GMO Project Verified label is the fastest growing in the food industry.
