EAS Strategies will return to Vitafoods Asia from Wednesday, Sep.2 – Thursday, Sep. 3 in Hong Kong with an expandedteam of experts to bring broader knowledge and deeper insights on food and nutrition business covering technical to strategic issues.

EAS has been a partner of Vitafoods Asia since 2011 and has provided a venue for visitors to seek advice on their queries and issues through free seminars and individual advisory sessions. The informative seminars have contributed to providing an in-depth appreciation of the Asian regulations and policies. Through the dedicated advisory sessions, the company’s experts have provided targeted advice to over 100 companies collectively in the last four years.

“With our expertise in regulations, public affairs and trade, we assist companies in a broadened capacity to meet the regional challenges when venturing into new territories, especially for emerging Asian markets like China, Indonesia, and upcoming ASEAN Economic Community,” said Wai Mun Poon, regional regulatory affairs manager at EAS Strategies.

While opportunities are plenty in the region, the fast-changing global environment challenges companies like never before. Asia has seen a rapid growth of the food and nutrition sector, driven by the growing young population and expanding middle-class consumers. The sales of packaged food and beverage under health and wellness sector in Asia will account for 31% of global sales by 2018, an increase from 20% in 2002, based on a Euromonitor research. However, the existing complicated standards and trade requirements become hurdles for companies to expand their business in the region.

“We provide companies with guidance from R&D, labeling on the product packaging, advertising and marketing requirements, to stakeholder engagement, issues monitoring and approaches to resolve them” said Pushpanathan Sundram, managing director (Asia Pacific) of EAS Strategies.
