Three employees from Aker BioMarine have been nominated to the top 10 list for the Young Leadership Talents awards in Norway. Aker was the only company to receive 3 nominations. Trond Atle Smedsrud, executive vice president of marketing and communications, made the overall top ten list of young talented leaders and came second in the marketing leader category. Erik Digman, director product innovation, came in third in the innovation category and Cilia Holmes Indahl, director of sustainability, came in the top 10 list of company developers.

The nominations are especially important to Aker as one of the company’s strategy pillars is dedicated to the development of its employees and conscious commitment to young talent. The company thinks differently about the ways to attract young talent and to give them the responsibility to make a difference. Cilia is responsible for sustainability at age 27, Trond Atle is part of the executive team with responsibility for marketing and communication at the age of 34 and CEO Matts Johansen is 40 years old.

As a global company with more than 25 different nationalities, Aker said it take pride in its diversity and uses a global network when recruiting to ensure it obtains the best talent. The company believes young people are driven by a desire to help solve the world’s challenges with scarce resources, food security and increased health and climate challenges. Aker BioMarine aims to help solve these challenges. The company is keen to preserve the ecosystem in which it operates and manages resources in a sustainable manner, which attracts young talent.
