PanTheryx Launches Probiotic-Colostrum Combo Ingredients

The company has expanded its capacity to integrate five beneficial strains into combination products with bovine colostrum.

Pantheryx, a digestive and immune support ingredients company specializing in colostrum, announced that it has expanded its capabilities to begin combining this dairy ingredient with probiotic strains for children’s and adults’ dietary supplements.

The new formulation capability will give manufacturers the option to create combination products with colostrum and strains such as Bifidobacterium animalis BB-12, Lactobacillus rhamnosus LGG+, Lactobacillus plantarum HEAL9, Lactobacillus paracasei 8700:2, and B. subtilis DE111.

“We worked diligently over the past year to explore ways to create colostrum and probiotic formulations that combine clinically proven probiotics with colostrum in easy to take capsules,” said Mike Weiser, PhD, senior director of innovation and R&D, PanTheryx. “Colostrum is an ideal partner for probiotics since it can promote the growth and colonization of these beneficial microbial strains, creating powerful synbiotic combinations. We are proud to be able to offer this capability to dietary supplement manufacturers, so they can create new digestive and immune health duo products. We look forward to continuing to explore new ways to innovate products for our ColostrumOne bovine (cow) colostrum ingredient offering.”

According to PanTheryx, there is a synergy between probiotics and the immunoglobulins present in cow colostrum. IgG, specifically, can regulate the microbiome and strengthen gut lining integrity to create better probiotic colonization. In addition, lactoferrin present in colostrum can prevent the growth of certain strains of bacteria while allowing probiotics to flourish and achieve better colonization. Research suggests that colostrum’s oligosaccharides can feed bifidobacterial, which are important early colonizers of the microbiome.”

These formulations can be applied to dietary supplements, and according to PanTheryx, its in-house contract manufacturing and quality capabilities enable it to complete the entire manufacturing process from start to finish. Specialties include spray drying, dry blending, powder fills, sachets, capsules, and chewable tablets while offering a variety of packaging options, and the company offers a selection of raw materials, flavors, and packaging components.

PanTheryx is fully-integrated at every stage of colostrum production, and also has an in-house clinical laboratory with accredited third-party verification.
