According to an unpublished in vitro study, Innophos’ Chelamax magnesium bisglycinate and citrate ingredients offer superior absorption to inorganic magnesium oxide and a competitor’s ingredient.

The findings, included in a whitepaper, can be reviewed here.

“This whitepaper presents scientific evidence from our latest in vitro study, showing that Chelamax chelated magnesium delivers superior absorption in the gastrointestinal tract compared to magnesium oxide and a leading competitor’s product,” said Karen Winkowski, PhD, vice president of innovation at Innophos. “With our broad range of magnesium products, manufacturers can formulate supplements with improved bioavailability in capsules, tablets, or gummies.”

The whitepaper on the study also provides insights on growing demand for magnesium supplements, the advantages of Innophos’ products compared to others, and performance comparisons.

Innophos’ research and development includes in vitro digestion model studies to confirm absorption, and the supplier offers a variety of magnesium forms for different applications, while also providing technical and formulation support to customers. Chelamax minerals are validated through a three-step process to ensure quality and integrity.
