Jiaherb, a global supplier of natural ingredients and botanical extracts, will be celebrating its 25^th anniversary this year. The company was founded on August 24, 2000, by Xiaohu Du in Xi’an, China, and has evolved from humble beginnings into what is the largest NSF-GMP registered manufacturer of herbal extracts and natural ingredients, according to the company.

Du, the founder and current owner, started the company by supplying crude herbal material to manufacturers. He eventually went on to take control of the manufacturing process himself, which set the foundation for what would become Jiaherb.

In its first year, Jiaherb operated with less than 30 employees and served less than 10 customers. It initially sold one product, 10-DAB, an extract from the yew tree used in the production of a chemotherapy ingredient called paclitaxel.

Today, the company has:

• Over 2,000 employees across R&D, production, and office roles;
• More than 3,000 customers worldwide, including 1,300 with Jiaherb and over 2,000 with China;
• A portfolio of over 2,000 botanical extracts and powders, and over 200 patents;

• 2008: the company expanded its global footprint with its first U.S. location in New Jersey and earned NSF-GMP, ISO-22000, and ISO-17025 certification.
• 2010: Jiaherb opened a new location in California.
• 2012: The company achieved USDA and EU organic certification.
• 2015: Jiaherb expanded its operations to include over 100,000 square feet of storage with the capacity to store 2,500 tons of materials.
