Wiley Companies is relaunching its AlaskOmega Omega-7 ingredient at Natural Products Expo West, positioning the ingredient for skin health. The highly concentrated palmitoleic acid (omega-7) ingredient is derived from wild Alaskan pollock. It is available in concentrations of 50% and 70%.
A recent clinical study found that over a period of 12 weeks, involving 101 women, supplementation with AlaskOmega Omega-7 was associated with significant improvements in wrinkle reduction, skin elasticity, and moisture retention compared to the control group. With growing interest in nutraceuticals for skin health, the ingredient offers a science-backed option for formulators looking to develop effective beauty-from-within supplements.
