With a heavy heart, I am sad to say that this is my last issue as editor of Nutraceuticals World. After more than 13 years with this magazine, I have decided to move on to another opportunity in the nutraceuticals industry. I’ll never forget how I felt when I took over the reigns as editor in early 2002—ridiculously nervous yet extremely excited, which is kind of how I feel right now as I close this chapter and start a new one.
Words cannot express how grateful I am to Rodman Publishing for this experience—it has simply made me a better professional, and person. I have thoroughly enjoyed building something that I think is very special. Every deadline, although fraught with stress and anxiety, was always worth the effort in the end.
Before I go, I must thank the legions of people who put up with me over the years—my staff, columnists, editorial advisory board members, freelancers, etc. Whether it was my famous deadline reminders or editorial requests, you always supported me along the way. Thank you.
I must also thank my readers. Your time is precious and we tried to keep that in mind when gathering and distilling the information for each issue. Thanks for taking the time to read this magazine—you’re the reason we work so hard each month.
In general, I would also like to thank everyone who both praised and critiqued Nutraceuticals World over the years. Your comments and suggestions were instrumental in getting us to the place we are today—the leading trade publication in the nutraceuticals field.
With the goal of continuing that tradition, Sean Moloughney, who was previously an associate editor for this magazine, will be taking over as editor. Many of you know him well. Feel free to drop him a line at smoloughney@rodpub.com.
A decade ago this industry was a joke to a lot of people, and now it is a legitimate part of the future of medicine. There have been a few missteps along the way but exponentially more accomplishments, and I am proud to be part of this movement. I firmly believe that this industry’s products will contribute to the health and longevity of consumers worldwide—it is the missing piece in an ideal healthcare system.
It is hard to sum up 13 years in an editorial, but I’ve done my best. The good news is, I don’t have to say goodbye… So I’ll see you around.
