Bell Flavors & Fragrances Obtains SQF 7.2, Level 3 Recertification

Bell maintained an 'Excellent' status for the fifth straight year.

Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Northbrook, IL, has been recertified as Safe Quality Food (SQF) 7.2 Level 3 in its manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters. Bell maintained an “Excellent” status for the fifth straight year continuing to meet industry standards and a more stringent scoring system. The visit was unannounced.
 
Bell Flavors & Fragrances’ recertification confirms that employees were well trained, retained information, and communicated well during employee interviews, which was a significant component of the audit.
 
Thomas G. Fortman, vice president of manufacturing at Bell Flavors & Fragrances, stated “Our brand has always stood for safety and high quality. Bell’s successful attainment of the SQF Level 3 Certification with an excellent rating reinforces the quality provided to our customers globally since 1912. We are committed to Safe Quality Food products and we will strive to continuously improve our products and operations. The hard work and dedication of all our employees is evident in our safe and high quality products.” 
 
John Washburn, director of quality systems at Bell added, “For five years straight, Bell Northbrook has achieved certification as SQF 7.2 Level 3, with their highest rating of ‘Excellent.’ We have sustained a solid program to keep pace with the continued growth of our customer base and increased manufacturing capacity. In 2016 SQF releases a revised, tougher, standard and we look forward to meeting this new challenge.”
