SOFAR Americas, the North American subsidiary of SOFAR S.p.A., (Italy), is launching in the U.S. the new Innovia Nectar Liquid Fiber Micro-shot, a combination of probiotics and fiber to improve digestion, increase beneficial bacteria and support overall immune health.

“Fiber is an essential source of health and key to the balance and response of gut microflora, yet most people fall well short of the recommended amount of fiber per day,” said GregoryBonfilio, president and CEO of SOFAR Americas. “Our new Liquid Fiber provides a delicious drinkable form of viable probiotics and FOS we call ‘nectar’ that is easy to carry with you and take daily.”

Innovia Liquid Fiber combines 8 billion CFUs of the clinically studied LP-DG (Lactobacillus paracasei CNCM I-1572) strain with 3 grams of fructooligosaccharides.  The proprietary strain featured in Innovia Nectar Liquid Fiber contains a protective mechanism that allows it to safely reach the upper GI and adhere to intestinal walls.

The Micro-shot, a proprietary technology that combines dry, stable probiotics in a patented cap, blends with wet, active nutrient fluids in the bottle. The cap technology safely stores the LP-DG strain in a protective alu-blister, isolating it from humidity and other elements that can degrade it. This unique delivery gives the Micro-shot superior stability when compared to probiotics in traditional delivery forms.

“The beauty of the Micro-shot is that it allows for the combination of nutrients in a liquid matrix with dry, stable probiotics.  The blend is then consumed when the probiotic strains are in their most active, beneficial state, when they come in contact with liquid fiber,” noted Mr. Bonfilio.
