Mibelle Biochemistry will be showcasing MintyBright Nu, an apple mint leaf extract formulated to improve skin brightness, at Vitafoods Asia. The ingredient launched earlier this year, and is rich in flavonoids known to influence melanin production in the skin.

MintyBright Nu is specifically formulated to support skin brightening, even skin tone, and reduce hyperpigmentation, by inhibiting melanin synthesis and stimulating the expression of genes involved in the prevention of oxidative stress in skin.

The company reported the results of a placebo-controlled study, which still awaits publication, involving 99 women who received a daily dose of 150 mg over two weeks.

According to Mibelle Biochemistry, skin lightness significantly increased in the treatment group compared to both baseline and placebo. Skin color brightening was increased by 16%, according to assessments by the Individual Typology Angle (ITA), a measurement tool which classifies skin types based on spectrophotometric measurements. Skin tone evenness improved visibly toward a more uniform complexion compared to initial condition, according to the company.

MyBright Nu is available as a water-soluble powder, has a minty taste, and can be used in a wide range of supplement formats including capsules, powders, jelly sticks, and liquids.
