Natreon Introduced AyuFlex for Joint Health

Natreon, Inc. has introduced AyuFlex, a patent-pending, water-soluble, vegetarian product for joint health. AyuFlex is derived from edible fruits of Terminalia chebula and standardized to high levels of bioactives chebulinic acid and chebulagic acid.

In addition to joint health benefits, studies have shown AyuFlex has cardiovascular and blood glucose management benefits. It can be used in either solid or liquid dosage forms and is ideal for incorporation into sports nutrition and joint health products. The ingredient can be included in small tablets, capsules, stick packs or sachets to be added to hot or cold beverages.

According to Dr. Sanni Raju, Natreon CEO, AyuFlex is scientifically-supported by five randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies. A study in moderately arthritic subjects showed a significant decrease in WOMAC, Knee Swelling Index, VAS pain, VAS stiffness and VAS disability scores. Two analgesic activity studies in healthy subjects have shown a significant increase in pain threshold force and pain tolerance time. Significant reduction in total cholesterol, LDL, triglycerdies, hsCRP and HbA1c and a significant increase in HDL were seen in two endothelial function studies—one in type 2 diabetics and the other in pre-metabolic syndrome subjects.

“AyuFlex with ORACFN value of 35,947 µmoles TE/g, appears to be the only product offering cardiovascular and blood glucose management benefits in addition to its primary joint health contribution,” said Dr. Raju. “This product is truly unique in that it is vegetarian, water-soluble, can be organic-certified, prepared by a totally aqueous extraction process from edible fruits, and when produced in a small tablet or capsule form offers easy ingestion.” For more information: www.natreoninc.com
