NOW Promotes Aaron Secrist to Executive VP of Quality, R&D, and Operations

Joe Carney has also joined the company as VP of Operations.

Dietary supplement and natural products company NOW announced that it has promoted the company’s former quality and regulatory manager, Aaron Secrist, to the position of executive VP of Quality, R&D, and Operations within the NOW health group. Additionally, the company announced the addition of Joe Carney as vice president of Operations.

Aaron began his former role in 2011, bringing with him experience in current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). “I am excited about the opportunity to raise the bar for our operations team,” Aaron said. “We are on a journey of continuous improvement and want to be a truly world class manufacturing operation in every sense of the word.”

Joe Carney’s experience includes over 15 years spent working in operations and other relevant areas, and he has worked for food manufacturing companies in North America including Conagra Brands, Bimbo Bakeries USA, and, most recently, he has overseen the manufacturing operation for Beyond Meat.

“I’m excited about joining the NOW team for many reasons,” Carney said. “Perhaps the biggest reason and motivation comes from the company’s values, which include people, position, focus, heart, and commitment. If we truly value each other and the contributions made by all, there’s no telling how far we can go, and I want nothing more than to be a part of that journey.”

“These new positions will help us to continue our strategic efforts in support of our success for many years to come,” NOW CEO Jim Emme said. “We congratulate both Aaron and Joe for their new roles.”

In addition to manufacturing more than 1,500 supplements and other products under the brand NOW, NOW health group comprises Puresource, a Canadian national distributor of natural health products, and The Fruitful Yield, a chain of 12 natural food stores in the Chicagoland area.
