Hair growth supplement brand Nutrafol has announced the appointment of Kim Biedermann, PhD, as its chief research and development officer, marking the first major C-suite appointment under the company’s new CEO,, Cindy Gustafson.

Biedermann brings over 25 years of R&D experience to the company from roles at The Bountiful Company, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, and GlaxoSmithKline. Most recently, she worked at Mend Nutrition, Inc. where she developed perioperative nutritional products to improve orthopedic outcomes after surgery.

She received a PhD in experimental pathology from the University of Southern California, conducted post-doctoral studies at Stanford University, has achieved over 25 patents, and has been involved in over 35 scientific publications.

In her new role, Biedermann will lead Nutrafol’s clinical research program across the nutraceutical, skin and hair care, and biotechnology categories. She will drive commercialization of new products across the hair and skin wellness categories, in partnership with parent organization Unilever.
