NutriLeads BV has entered into a strategic distribution partnership with specialty ingredient company Shanghai Toong Yeuan Food Tech Ltd to launch Benicaros in China, expanding the global reach of the prebiotic fiber.

Shanghai Toon Yeuan Food Tech Ltd specializes in functional ingredients for the supplement, food, and beverage industries. It has several relationships with leading manufacturers, providing a strong position for Benicaros across a wide range of health and wellness products, the company reports.

Benicaros is a prebiotic fiber classified as rhamnogalacturonan-I, and is extracted from upcycled carrot pomace. It also is evidenced to enhance the production of short-chain fatty acids like acetate, propionate, and butyrate, which contribute to gut health. Benicaros is also evidenced to have an influence on innate immune response.
