In late 2024, ingredient supplier PanTheryx launched Relesium, a formulation of chicken egg powder and bovine colostrum, formulated to provide GLP-1 medication users with digestive health benefits.
Now the ingredient is featured in a finished product just launched by the company. The product is positioned to support occasional digestive side effects associated with weight loss medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and other semaglutides and tirzepatides, such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, and bloating.
More than 34 million Americans have taken GLP-1 medications as of May last year, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. These drugs cause adverse effects related to digestive health, impacting an estimated half of patients.
“Relesium is a game changer for individuals taking GLP-1 medications and experiencing gastrointestinal issues. It’s the first product to market with proven science specifically designed to target GI distress that many patients experience,” said Dr. Harry Oken, adjunct professor of medicine at the University of Maryland and former chair of the department of medicine at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center. “While other formulas are untested or lack scientific backing to ensure they provide support for side effects, Relesium stands apart. I’ve seen Relesium address the root causes of my patients’ GI discomfort, allowing them to quickly feel their best while administering GLP-1 medications.”
According to PanTheryx, the Relesium supplement is formulated to:
- Ease digestive discomfort such as occasional nausea, diarrhea, bloating, and constipation;
- Neutralize harmful pathogens in the gut;
- Strengthen intestinal lining and stabilize gut integrity;
- Enhance nutrient absorption;
- Support a balanced gut microbiome with prebiotic-rich ingredients
When taken as directed, Relesium is evidenced to significantly reduce adverse GI-related symptoms of GLP-1 medications, providing relief without compromising the efficacy of the drugs, according to the company.
“We’re committed to providing real solutions that address the pervasive gut-health challenges faced by millions of people, including those challenges brought on by GLP-1 drugs,” said Tom Feeley, CEO for PanTheryx. “Relesium is unlike any other gut health product on the market. It is not a probiotic or digestive enzyme. It utilizes all-natural ingredients provided by mother nature, is efficacious, and fast acting in providing relief.”
