Pharmachem Acquires Improve

Kearny, NJ-based Pharmachem Laboratories, Inc., has acquired Improve USA, a fully integrated aloe vera manufacturing company with headquarters in DeSoto, TX

Kearny, NJ-based Pharmachem Laboratories, Inc., has acquired Improve USA, a fully integrated aloe vera manufacturing company with headquarters in DeSoto, TX, and three manufacturing facilities in Mexico, according to Peter Hafermann, newly appointed president of Improve USA.

“The facilities are fully integrated from farming operations that grow the Aloe Vera, to the production facilities that convert the leaves to powder or liquid forms for use in a variety of customer applications,” said Hafermann. “We’re in control of the entire production process which translates into improved quality and production capabilities for our customers in support of the multi-billion dollar consumer market for Aloe Vera-containing products.

“Having three separate facilities, and multiple farming operations under our control ensures a secure supply of Aloe Vera for our customers,” continued Hafermann. “In addition, it gives us the flexibility of bottling in Mexico, or at our Alix Technologies’ facility in Utah.”

Improve USA will operate in the market as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pharmachem and will retain its current management and employees.

“Aloe Vera has a long history as a natural, soothing medicinal plant,” added Hafermann, “and many new applications, especially in the beverage category, are being developed. With the full capabilities and experience of Pharmachem Labs, we can better meet the needs of this growing market.”
