Pharmachem Introduces Educational Carb Counting Tool

As part of its continuing educational program to teach both brand marketers and consumers how to assess carbohydrate intake for a healthy lifestyle, Pharmachem Laboratories, Kearny, NJ, maker of Phase 2 Carb Controller (proprietary white kidney bean extract), has unveiled a downloadable Carb Counting Tool, on its website.

“Millions of people who are overweight are continuously seeking ways to slim down, and as part of that journey, diet is essential,” says Mitch Skop, senior director of new product development for Pharmachem. “Diet consists of three macronutrients:  fats, proteins and carbohydrates, and the latter is often the reason why people are carrying around so many extra pounds. Humans need carbohydrates — slow carbs and in the appropriate amounts — to live a healthy lifestyle, yet many do not know the differences in types and portions.”

Pharmachem worked with James B. LaValle, clinical pharmacist, board certified clinical nutritionist and author, to help create the Carbohydrate Counting Tool as part of the Metabolic Code Diet, which also incorporates supplementation with Phase 2.

Mr. LaValle said, “The quality and amount of carbohydrates we eat is key for helping us manage our weight and preventing diabetes and heart disease. This Carbohydrate Counting Tool helps you see how many carbohydrates you are eating on an average day.”

Mr. Skop noted that brand partners will be able to promote the availability of the Carbohydrate Counting Tool in advertising, marketing and literature for consumer access, which would also leads to higher sales and repeat purchase of Phase 2-containing products.
