PLT Health Solutions has joined the Natural Products Association (NPA) as a voting board member.

Joe Weiss, global head of brand management at PLT, will assume a position on the association’s board of directors. Weiss previously served on NPA’s board of directors while he was president of Nutrition21.

NPA is the largest and oldest nonprofit trade association representing the natural products industry, with more than 1,900 members representing over 10,000 retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors of natural products. The move “reinforces PLT’s longstanding commitment to industry leadership, scientific rigor, andproactive engagement on policy and standards shaping the future of the natural products space,” PLT stated.

PLT joined NPA at a critical time for the makers of supplements, functional foods, and functional beverages, and is motivated by the company’s commitment to industry leadership and dialogue with the health and wellness community, Weiss said.
