The supplier added South America to U.S. CEO Asha Ramesh’s responsibilities and promoted Jan Obirek to vice president of sales for U.S. and Canada.

Sabinsa, a global ingredient supplier, has announced that Asha Ramesh is now CEO of Americas, after adding South America to her supervision, and promoted Jan Obirek to vice president of sales for the U.S. and Canada.

Ramesh joined the company 30 years ago as a manager of purchasing and special projects for the company’s manufacturing arm, Sami Labs Ltd., in Bangalore, India. She moved to the Sabinsa staff in January 2000, focusing primarily on sales and business development with involvement in various departments of the organization. She then was named vice president of business development, and finally, in 2018, became U.S. CEO. Ramesh has a bachelor’s degree in science and an MBA specializing in marketing management.

Obirek joined Sabinsa in 2015 as regional sales manager for California, and brought several years of sales management experience at the regional, national, and international levels for natural, mass, and drug channels to the position. As a Polish native, Jan started his higher education at the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. He moved to the U.S. where he received a BA in economics from the University of Colorado. He has broad consumer packaged goods and ingredient sales expertise for both branded and private label products.

Both Asha and Jan have consistently shown exceptional commitment and expertise in supporting our customers’ needs and driving innovative solutions,” said Shaheen Majeed, global CEO and managing director of Sabinsa. “Their longstanding contributions have played a vital role in Sabinsa’s success, and we are confident they will bring even greater impact in their elevated roles. I congratulate them both on their advancement, and look forward to their future achievements.”
