Waleria Healthtech, a supplier specializing in women’s health nutraceutical ingredients, will be showcasing Aspurūs, a shatavari extract formulated for menopause support, at SupplySide Connect New Jersey.

The demand for women’s health supplements targeting pre-, peri-, and post-menopause is growing, driven by women feeling more empowered to discuss their symptoms openly.

Aspurūs is a plant-based, non-hormonal option for consumers looking to manage menopausal symptoms. A recent computation study showed that bioactive compounds found in shatavari exhibited an affinity toward female hormone receptors. This foundational research is leading to a study in which the full-spectrum shatavari extract will be evaluated for its effects on hormonal balance and adaptogenic properties.

The ingredient is standardized to contain at least a 5% concentration of bioactive compounds called shatavarins, in a way that assures the inclusion of both major and minor compounds. The ingredient is backed by a clinical study in which over 60 healthy women took either the supplement or a placebo, and were assessed for symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety, fatigue, and insomnia. The study found that in four weeks, participants experienced an 85% reduction in self-reported hot flashes, while night sweats decreased by 90% within eight weeks. The ingredient also improved sleep quality scores by 60% compared to the placebo group.

“Menopause is a pivotal stage in a woman’s life, and many are searching for safe, effective, and natural solutions to manage their symptoms – we can deliver that with aspurūs,” said Komal Baldwa, founder of Waleria. “We know clinical research wins every time which is why we are committed to additional studies to support the ingredient – we are excited to showcase the ingredient at this year’s SupplySide Connect.”
