Women in Nutraceuticals (WIN), a nonprofit seeking to improve gender parity in the nutraceuticals industry, has launched the WIN Entrepreneurship Committee.

The committee’s end goal is to improve the number of women-owned ventures and increase the funding for them. The committee will design and implement a structured entrepreneurial development path that addresses various stages of business growth. The program will strengthen participants’ preparedness for fundraising, entrepreneurial management, and exit strategies.

There will be several sub-committees as well, including:

  • Development of Entrepreneurial Skills, which will create a learning program through workshops, webinars, and other resources aimed at developing essential skills like business planning, financial management, protection of intellectual property, and pitch preparation.
  • Focus on the Entrepreneur, which will design programs featuring entrepreneurs who will share their journeys, enabling them to build networks, develop resources, and market their products.
  • Group Coaching, in which groups of entrepreneurs at similar stages of business growth will be matched together and assigned a coach drawn from an entrepreneurial advisory group, enabling them to learn from each other and their coach. The experts will be sourced from financial institutions, private equity firms, early stage investors, and seasoned entrepreneurs.
  • “The Ask” Prep will prepare vetted entrepreneurs to seek funding and assist them in finding appropriate services within the industry.
  • The Seminar and Pitch Program, which will organize a flagship pitch event or partner with existing programs where female entrepreneurs at different funding stages can showcase their businesses.
  • The Investors Club, which will create a group of investors interested in funding women-owned businesses, and providing a network to discuss investment possibilities, partnership development, and opportunities to pool capital.

The Entrepreneurship Committee is inviting female entrepreneurs at all stages who feel like they can benefit from this program; seasoned advisors and coaches for the entrepreneurial advisory group; sub-committee members; and leadership at the committee and sub-committee level.

To become involved, visit the WIN portal to read job descriptions and fill out applications for volunteer and leadership participation in the sub-committees, co-chair or tri-chair of the entrepreneurship committee, or participation in the entrepreneurial advisory group.

Questions can be sent to Jan Mills, WIN board liaison and interim co-chair to the Entrepreneurial Committee at jmills@artemis-international.com.
