Naturex to Acquire Burgundy Botanical Extracts

Strengthening its offering in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and personal care markets, Naturex, Avignon, France, will acquire Burgundy Botanical Extracts, a French manufacturer and supplier of plant extracts. With a total revenue of about €14 million over the last 12 months, Burgundy employs about 60 people at two production sites in France and Spain. The company’s flagship brands and products include grape seed and cranberry extracts, UTIrose, a patented hibiscus extract for use in combating urinary infections and Iridoforce, an extract of harpagophytum used in the prevention of arthrosis and joint diseases. The acquisition is expected to allow Naturex to strengthen its industrial base and capacities to meet customer needs by developing its expertise in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and personal care.

In other company news, Naturex recently received the “Best Acquisition” award at the European Outsourcing Awards in Frankfurt, Germany, as part of the CPhI trade show, for its successful integration of the Natraceutical ingredients division into its various business units. The event celebrated outsourcing excellence within the pharmaceutical community and recognized flourishing companies for their outstanding contributions throughout the year.
