ACI & CRN to Co-Host 2016 Dietary Supplement Legal & Regulatory Conference

CRN president and veteran legal and regulatory attorney to co-chair event.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) will co-present the Fourth Annual Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance Forum on Dietary Supplements with the American Conference Institute (ACI). The forum will take place June 27-28, at The Andaz Hotel in New York, NY, with optional workshops on June 28 and 29. CRN President & CEO Steve Mister and Scott Bass, partner, Sidley Austin LLP, will co-chair the conference for the second consecutive year.

“During a time when there are so many changes afoot within the dietary supplement and functional food industry, the CRN/ACI conference presents an opportunity to get a real education on some complex issues,” said Mr. Mister. “I’m delighted to join Scott this year to chair another successful event convening experts who will help attendees enhance their understanding of our dynamic regulatory and legal climate and be prepared to face its challenges.”

The conference will host an open dialogue between state enforcers and industry about efforts to protect public health. In addition, the agenda is filled with sessions on current political, policy, regulatory and litigation developments, including: identifying FDA hot buttons; preparing for the next wave of rulemaking related to the Food Safety Modernization Act; claims substantiation as it relates to new Federal Trade Commission and National Advertising Division activities; industry efforts to promote transparency and integrity; Proposition 65 topics; strategies for addressing state genetically modified organism (GMO) labeling laws and preparing for a possible federal standard; and much more. Attendees can also choose to add on two post-conference workshops on claims substantiation and international commercialization of products.
