Top Ranking Bodybuilder Promotes Benefits of Cluster Dextrin

Hidetada Yamagishi credits hard work, determination and Glico’s Cluster Dextrin for his achievements.

This year renowned bodybuilder and 2007 Mr. Olympia, Hidetada Yamagishi, became the first Japanese competitor to win the 212 weight division of the International Federation of Bodybuilders’ (IFBB) “Arnold Classic.”

Mr. Yamagishi said he credits his breakthrough achievement to hard work, determination and to Cluster Dextrin, the highly branched cyclic dextrin produced exclusively by Glico Nutrition Co., Ltd. The company said Cluster Dextrin provides users with quick and sustainable energy.

Glico’s proprietary formulation has become a key nutritional ingredient in hypotonic sports drinks for runners, swimmers and athletes. The ingredient offers benefits for supporting endurance, reducing fatigue, all with a low gastrointestinal impact and fast gastric emptying.

Along with aiding recovery during the grueling pre-contest training regimen, most important to Mr. Yamagishi is Cluster Dextrin’s support for developing sarcoplasm, the cytoplasm of striated muscle fiber. “Off season, when my main goal is quality muscle mass, I use 50g of Cluster Dextrin twice, before and after training; pre-contest, it’s 25g after, “ he explained. “It helps me increase muscle size and density during the off season, and pre-contest, I can hold muscle fullness by using Cluster Dextrin, even on a low-calorie diet.”

Mr. Yamagishi is part of Team Gaspari, led by Rich Gaspari, one of the highest-achieving bodybuilders in the field and winner of the 2013 Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Yamagishi learned about Glico’s Cluster Dextrin in Japan and introduced it to Mr. Gaspari, who in turn made it the foundation of his own best-selling formulation, Gaspari Nutrition’s Glycofuse.
