Lycored Partners with ABC and NPA

The collaboration is a continuation of Lycored’s commitment to supporting clinically substantiated health solutions.

Lycored, Orange, NJ, unveiled partnerships with nonprofit research & education organization, the American Botanical Council (ABC) and key industry organization, the Natural Products Association (NPA). This collaboration with ABC and NPA is a continuation of Lycored’s long tradition of responsible leadership, according to the company, and is an important component in Lycored’s efforts to support the cultivation of wellness through the promotion of responsible, sustainable, and clinically-substantiated health-promoting solutions.

ABC is the leading independent, nonprofit, international member-based organization that provides education, in the form of science-based and traditional information, to promote the responsible use of herbals as medicine, food, and support of wellness. The NPA is the nation’s largest and oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to the natural products industry, and unites a diverse membership, from the smallest health food store to the largest dietary supplement manufacturer. Lycored is joining with ABC and NPA in a shared mission to continue building credibility through honorable practice

“We share a mission with NPA and ABC. Together, we want to cultivate and propagate best practices and the highest intentions within the industry among our peers, demonstrating to consumers, academia, the media and regulators, the very best traditions and current examples within our industry,” said Zev Zeigler, vice president of brand communications, Lycored US.

“I am delighted that Lycored has renewed and deepened its commitment to the American Botanical Council (ABC) and the Natural Products Association (NPA). At no time in our industry’s history has our shared mission of building consumer trust been more important,” said Kenn Israel, national accounts and business development executive with Lycored. “The values and voice of NPA and ABC are aligned with our own, and we are proud to be a part of this vibrant community of responsible companies and committed individuals, who comprise the leading trade associations and organizations in our industry.”

ABC’s publication, HerbalGram, showcases the organization’s deep commitment to supporting the dissemination of peer-reviewed science and the long tradition of promoting the use of plants and plant-based compounds to support the well-being of our society, an ideology that is essential to Lycored as well.

“As a science-based nonprofit organization, ABC is deeply grateful that Lycored has chosen to continue and enhance its long-term support of the unique nonprofit educational mission of ABC,” Mark Blumenthal, the founder and executive director of ABC and editor-in-chief of HerbalGram, ABC’s award-winning journal on Herbal Medicine. “Lycored is a pioneering company, helping to establish tomato-derived lycopene as a leading plant-based dietary ingredient by investing in scientific and clinical research. This is highly consistent with ABC’s strong commitment to educating the public on the clinically-tested health benefits of well researched plant preparations.”

Lycored’s team will be working with the NPA, specifically on The Committee for Product and Label Integrity (ComPLI), which makes recommendations to the NPA Board of Directors regarding industry initiatives, regulatory developments, safety and product quality concerns, and emerging science. This committee specifically relates to Lycored’s organizational goals including the commitment to ethical business practices and creation of health solutions that are supported by honest, compliant and clinically-backed claims.

These partnerships will allow Lycored to get an inside perspective on industry people and consumers alike which will give them the insight needed to make informed and responsible company decisions that will ultimately support the brand’s mission of cultivating wellness.
