Institute for Natural Medicine Launches Ambassador Program

The goal of the program is to increase public awareness about the value of naturopathic medicine.

The Institute for Natural Medicine (INM), a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit that provides education for people who want to understand the true range of natural medicine, is continuing to support the advancement of naturopathic medicine through its newly launched INM Ambassador Program. INM clinician and student ambassadors will serve to increase public awareness about the value of naturopathic medicine through coordinated outreach campaigns to consumers of care and other health professionals.

With consumer demand rising for naturopathic doctor care, and recent regulatory recognition awarded in both Pennsylvania and Massachusetts, access to naturopathic medicine continues to expand. State licensure is likely to grow as more people demand access to non-toxic, holistic therapies, and as organizations like INM and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians continue to push for rigorous licensing standards in all 50 states.

“A variety of practitioners with a wide-range of experience, training, certification, and general competence, practice under the umbrella of natural medicine, and that has made it difficult and confusing for consumers to understand,” said Michelle Simon, PhD, ND, and president of the Institute for Natural Medicine.

“We are committed to educating the public about the benefits of naturopathic medicine and connecting patients to legitimate licensed NDs in their region,” said Dr. Simon.

The long-term vision of INM includes increasing access to care by licensed naturopathic doctors while building bridges with other healthcare disciplines to foster inter-professional collaboration for optimal health and wellbeing.
