Solabia, a French company that specializes in manufacturing proprietary ingredients to the food, dietary supplement, and pharmaceutical industries, has earned Non-GMO Project Verified status for the nutraceutical ingredient BioEcolians.

The Non-GMO Project offers North America’s only third-party verification and labeling for non-GMO food and products. The organization is dedicated to building sources of non-GMO products and providing verified non-GMO choices.

BioEcolians is a prebiotic gluco-oligosaccharide with clinically proven effects for gut health. It re-equilibrates the microbiome, reduces the pain and bloating, and reinforces the gut innate immunity by induction of the antimicrobial peptides (b-Defensins), according to Solabia.

These b-Defensins inhibit the adhesion of the pathogenic bacteria to the intestinal wall, reducing the infection risk. Furthermore, their secretion is also associated with a reduction of the intestinal inflammation, consequence of an inhibition of the production of pro-inflammatory molecules such as the TNFa.
