Glanbia Nutritionals, a company that specializes in manufacturing functional foods, beverages, dietary supplements, cheese, and other ingredients, has announced the acquisition of Foodarom, a Canada-based company specializing in flavor design. Foodarom, which was founded in 2006, comprises a flavor library of over 15,000 recipes, and produces both liquid and powder products for a variety of turnkey applications. In addition to its headquarters in Montreal, the company has production facilities in Salt Lake City and Bremen, Germany, and culinary laboratories in San Diego and Milan, Italy.
The knowledge and combined experience of the two companies’ R&D teams will better position Glanbia in the area of flavors, and further enhance Glanbia’s ability to provide ingredient solutions to its customers, the company reports.
“We recently shared our ambition to scale the flavors area of our business and we are very pleased to announce this acquisition of Foodarom,” Brian Phelan, CEO of Glanbia Nutritionals, said. “We are excited to welcome their 130-strong team to Glanbia with their exceptional reputation and commitment to flavor excellence. I am delighted with the significant additional capabilities we will be able to offer the customers of both organizations by joining our great teams together.”
“Foodarom begins a new journey full of excitement and is surrounded by its greatest asset, its employees,” Pierre Miclette, CEO of Foodarom, said. “This new chapter in our story is an important step forward that will contribute to Foodarom’s development.”
