Lycored Launches New Phytonutrient Formula Targeting Prostate Health

Any kind of sleep disruptor, including frequent bathroom trips at night, can have a major impact on overall quality of life.

Lycored has launched an extract designed to provide holistic support to urinary comfort, which, in turn, has an effect on sleep quality. Lycocomfort, a formulation of standardized tomato extract and natural phytosterols contains a number of carotenoids and antioxidants shown to have a positive effect on the symptoms associated with prostate discomfort.

Prostate health and comfort can greatly impact the quality of life in men as they age. It has been posited that reducing oxidative stress can have some impact on the rates of nighttime trips to the bathroom which can be a major sleep disruptor. Lycored reports, based on its own research, that 85% of men who’ve experienced a prostate problem suffer from an increased need to urinate at night. In addition to sleep issues, Lycocomfort’s ability to improve urinary issues can ease some of the anxiousness caused by urinary concerns caused during the day.

“Prostate health can become a significant issue for men as they age and often has a real impact on quality of sleep. At Lycored, we know that true wellness requires a holistic approach, with healthy sleeping, eating, exercising, thoughts, and emotions working in harmony,” Karin Hermoni, head of science and nutrition at Lycored, said. “Lycocomfort was developed to support peaceful sleep and may help ensure we get the support we need to achieve a sense of overall calm.”

Lycocomfort contains a host of carotenoids shown to benefit oxidative stress, including lycopene, phytoene, phytofluene, beta-carotene, and vitamin E. It is also enriched with natural phytosterols. Each of these ingredients have been associated with the relief of the urinary symptoms and urinary flow problems caused by an enlarged prostate gland.

In addition to a human clinical trial substantiating lycopene’s capacity to prevent the growth of prostate cells, a pre-clinical study also indicated that lycopene may contain compounds benefitting prostate cell growth more effectively in synergy with phytoene and phytofluene.
