TriNutra, the makers of the first cold-pressed black seed oil standardized to have concentrations of the bioactive compound thymoquinone standardized to 3%, recently announced a partnership with NS Oils Ltd. to provide an organic version of Thymoquin.

Through the partnership with NS Oils, a supplier located in the Israeli Negev Desert,  the company has spent the past three years cultivating organic black seeds for Thymoquin, which are now certified organic by the Israeli national certification program.

Thymoquin seeds are cultivated under controlled conditions to ensure that proper sustainability measures are being met, and that the seeds will have the highest possible potency in the end product, TriNutra reports.

“Quality seeds have always been an important aspect of TriNutra’s business model and delivering organic means that we can further meet the demands of consumers,” Morris Zelkha, CEO of TriNutra, said. “We wanted to make sure we do it right, no cutting corners, and now, after three years, we have full confidence in our ability to deliver organic ThymoQuin to our customers.”

TriNutra’s breeding program is what allows the company to produce plants which can be standardized to high thymoquinone content, the company said, and a proprietary cold-press extraction method used in production allows for 3% thymoquinone content with less than 2% fatty acid. Now, the product has certified organic credentials in addition to meeting recent USP monograph guidelines.

“Our customers are increasingly looking for ingredients that meet organic, non-GMO and other sustainability standards to help differentiate their brands,” Chris Holland, VP of sales at Barrington Nutritionals, TriNutra’s exclusive North American distributor, said. “TriNutra did a phenomenal job working with their family farmers to develop the seed and build a reliable supply chain to ensure consistent supply of organic ThymoQuin.”
