Hologram Sciences, a direct-to-consumer nutrition company with a digital platform, recently announced its market debut with the launch of d.velop, an immune support package which provides consumers with an advanced vitamin D formula, a diagnostic kit, and digital support.

Hologram Sciences, which was recently founded and received a $100 million investment from nutraceutical supplier Royal DSM, will market and incubate products through a digital platform centered around personalized nutrition. Each of the brands developed through Hologram will grant consumers access not only to supplements, but also to diagnostic tools, and coaching/counseling from registered dietitians and other nutrition and health experts.

D.velop is formulated to provide nutrition that can help people build resilient immune health in the short-term, in just days or weeks instead of months, the company said. This is because the company utilizes vitamin D3 in the form of calcifediol, rather than cholecalciferol, which research suggests can achieve optimal vitamin D3 status (30ng/mL) three times faster than the more traditional counterpart. Additionally, calcifediol is evidenced to be three times more effective than the more conventional cholecalciferol, when it comes to the dosage.

“At Hologram, we’re committed to creating and rapidly scaling products that are backed by proven science, pioneering technology, and habit-building,” Ian Brady, CEO of Hologram Sciences, said. “We chose to focus our first brand and product on immunity because we wanted to give people a tool to feel more confident about their health as they step back into the world.”

D.velop is available through Hologram either as single 30-day supply, or in a three-month supply, however, it is more than just vitamin D shipped to one’s doorstep. The d.velop solution also includes access to the free d.velop app which provides users with actionable information on immune health, with recommendations on how to improve one’s immune health and wellbeing. The app also includes access to live coaching from registered dietitians who are available to answer questions and provide tips for staying on course. Consumers who choose the subscription option also receive a free two-pack vitamin D test kit to test their vitamin D levels before and after supplementing with d.velop.

With up to 95% of Americans falling short of the recommended daily intake of vitamin D from food alone, according to reviews of NHANES data, reaching sufficient levels of vitamin D can be challenging, especially for those especially at risk of deficiency, such as people of color, or those living in northern areas with less sunlight.

“No two people are the same and that goes for nutrition as well,” Melissa Rifkin, MS, RD, CDN, said. “Understanding how to increase one’s  immunity is one of the biggest challenges people face and d.velop addresses that challenge in a very personal way. I’m excited to partner with Hologram to share the importance of personalized nutrition and holistic health.”

D.velop is the first of many holistic solutions slated to come from the New York and Boston-based collective Hologram Sciences. The company, which was launched in 2021, plans to release new solutions annually across a broad range of health conditions.
