CRN Announces New Membership Dues Plan for 2022

The new, more equitable rate structure will reduce membership costs for midsize companies with $50-400 million in annual sales.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), a trade association representing the dietary supplement and functional foods industry, announced that it would implement a new membership dues plan beginning in 2022. The new plan will reduce the annual dues for many companies in order to make CRN membership more available to companies of various sizes.

With changes in due structure recommended by a task force of CRN members, and unanimously approved by the CRN board of directors in June 2021, companies with $50-400 million in annual sales will see reductions in their dues. Only companies with annual sales exceeding $400 million will see dues increase, and any substantial changes in dues will be phased in over a three-year period.

“This change opens the playing field to more companies,” CRN Chairman Barry Ritz, PhD, vice president of science, regulatory, and innovation at Nestle Health Science, said. “Midsize companies that previously perceived us as ‘too expensive’ now have the opportunity to secure a seat at the CRN table.”

“CRN members recognize the return on their investment in membership is unmatched in this industry,” Steve Mister, president and CEO of CRN, said. “The evolution in our dues structure ensures CNR can continue to provide our members with the industry leadership, government engagement, and experienced counsel they rely on.”
