BGG World Completes Astaxanthin Farm Expansion for World’s Largest Farm

The company doubled its capacity for sourcing this algae-based nutritional ingredient.

BGG World has completed a major capacity expansion of its 100% glass tube photobioreactor microalgae farm which it uses for its astaxanthin ingredients, and now has the largest microalgae farm in the world, the company reports.

The expansion doubled BGG’s astaxanthin production capacity and will allow for the fulfillment of customers’ demands for the next 3-5 years, with adjacent land slated for use in future expansions. BGG completed the expansion over the past 18 months despite challenges faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“At BGG, we never want to leave any customer with unfulfilled or late orders, and we rarely do,” Chunhua Li, chairman and founder of BGG World, said. “This expansion of capacity for our flagship AstaZine Natural Astaxanthin product line should keep our customers happy and their orders filled into the second half of this decade.”

“We not only continue to to lead the astaxanthin market with ongoing clinical research, but we back that up with capacity expansions to consistently stay ahead of demand. Having worked in the astaxanthin business for the last twenty years, I’ve never seen any producer react as quickly to market needs.”
