Ingredient suppliers Indena and Alvinesa have partnered to launch an organic, sustainably-sourced grapeseed extract, marketed for cardiovascular, neuroprotective, and stress support benefits.
 
The Italian company, specializing in herbal and botanical ingredients, chose Alvinesa as a partner due to its 30-year history of utilizing grape co-products form the wine-making process in order to research and develop natural ingredients which are beneficial to health, environmentally friendly, and contribute to food waste prevention.
 
Enovita Organic is a 100% organic extract derived from Vitis vinifera seeds, and will be added to the Enovita standard version.

The grape seeds are sourced from vineyards in the Spanish South-Central region of Castilla-La Mancha, the largest organic vineyards in the world, then finally processed and released in Indena’s state-of-the-art extraction plants, in compliance with the EU and USDA organic standards.”

Alvinesa’s grape seeds are derived from an organic farming system that avoids the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and all vinification waste products are upcycled. Moreover, the extraction process used for Enovita Organic uses water and no chemical solvents. These processing standards guarantee compliance with EU and USDA organic regulations, the companies report.
 
Enovita Organic is formulated for stress resilience and cardiovascular support. Grape seeds contain the highest concentration of oligomeric proanthocyanidins, which are antioxidants, with properties which support healthy blood glucose, and are linked to a number of heart and cognitive health benefits.
 
A human clinical study supported by Indena found that supplementation with Enovita Organic could reduce blood pressure to healthy levels in both healthy people and those with borderline hypertension.
