FoodChain ID Acquires Promag

The safety, quality, and sustainability tech company acquired the certification company which serves the Benelux region.

FoodChain ID, a provider of technology-enabled food safety, quality, and sustainability solutions, recently acquired Promag, a food and feed safety certification provider serving the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg) region of the EU.

The over 35-year-old company is especially active in the nutrition and farming sector in Belgium and France, and is a complement to FoodChain ID’s own operations in Benelux, France, and Germany.

“This acquisition is a strong strategic fit with FoodChain ID’s technical services, testing, and food safety business. It broadens the range of solutions we can provide customers in the critical greater Benelux region that keep the food supply chain safe, compliant, and transparent,” Brad Riemenapp, FoodChain ID CEO, said.

Promag was founded in 1977 by Noel Maes, and in addition to specializing in certification for feed and agricultural products in the EU, the company has partnered with public authorities, associations, producer groups, operators, and labs to provide food safety services and certifications to accredited standards.
