Layn Natural Ingredients recently launched a quercetin extract called Bio+Quercitrin, a form of the flavonoid that has a ribose molecule attached to it in order to improve bioavailability.
 
Quercetin is known for having antioxidant effects, and, according to Layn, its Bio+Quercetin formulation is six-times more bioavailable than standard quercetin, thanks to a ribose molecule which is attached to it in order to make it more absorbable and permeable in the small intestine.
 
This allows for dietary supplement brands to lower the amount of an ingredient by volume in each dosage, which can not only reduce raw material costs but can allow for smaller pill size and potentially less gastrointestinal issues sometimes experienced with standard quercetin supplements.
 
According to Layn, the antioxidant has a long history of research behind it, amounting to over 10,000 published studies, which provide evidence that it can support a number of health benefits, including immune health, age-related health, heart health, allergies, gut health, inflammatory response, joint health, and cellular function.

The company reports that the ingredient is ideal both as a standalone, or in combinations for both human and pet health, and can be used in powders, capsules, tablets, softgels, gummies, bars, and liquid shots.
 
Bio+Quercitrin is extracted through a gentle process from Sophora japonica, through Layn’s fully vertically-integrated production.
