Nutrient Blend Linked to Muscle, Exercise Benefits

NutraShure Distribution’s 3DPump Breakthrough was studied for effects on muscle pump, hydration, muscle endurance, and inflammation markers.

NutraShure Distribution, LLC, announced the publication of a new study which compared its complex of L-citrulline, glycerol, and amla extract to a standardized L-citrulline ingredient.

The study, conducted at the Center for Applied Health Sciences, showed that using the complex, marketed as 3D Pump Breakthrough, showed similar effects in muscle endurance, muscle pump, hydration, and inflammation markers, at nearly a third of the dose of the standard L-citrulline ingredient.

The three-in-one formula targets multiple mechanisms of action related to muscle pump, including enhanced blood flow and nitric oxide production, for optimal benefits.

The randomized, single-blind, crossover study evaluated the complex in healthy recreationally-active men and women with an average age of 29.4 years. The 3DPump Breakthrough group received a standard dose of the formula, which contains 3 grams of L-citrulline, 1.2 grams of glycerol, and 165 grams of amla fruit extract, while the other group received 8 grams of L-citrulline, 45 minutes before an aerobic and resistance-training workout.

The testing measurements included body fluid shifts, markers of hydration, and appendicular girth, both before and after exercise. Markers of damage and inflammation were taken 24 hours after exercise.

The two groups experienced similar results in acute muscular endurance, muscle damage, inflammation, and appendicular muscle girth, but the 3DPump Breakthrough group reported 50% fewer adverse events.

Because amla fruit extract is linked to inflammatory modulating and antioxidant effects, 3DPump Breakthrough may show greater impact in attenuating damage from exercise over a longer-term, the authors concluded.

“We are excited to deliver efficacy outcomes with 3DPump Breakthrough compared to that of L-citrulline. The outcome of this study shows that over-engineering finished product formulations does not always equate to better results. 3DPump Breakthrough was developed using proper synergy and provided comparable results at nearly half of the active ingredient dose. To those manufacturers looking to formulate with benefits that include muscle pump while also providing effects on aerobic and anaerobic exercise performance, 3DPump Breakthrough delivers innovation to the next generation of sports and active nutrition,” said Brandon Sojka, founder of NutraShure Distribution, LLC.
