Nutriventia’s TurmXtra Awarded Patents in U.S. and U.K.

The turmeric extract was awarded patents based on its formulation, which has achieved clinical efficacy at a dosage of 250 mg.

Ingredient supplier Nutriventia Limited, has been awarded patents in the United States and the United Kingdom for its turmeric extract, TurmXtra.

The patents have been a priority for the company, and apply to curcuminoid formulations which exhibit optimized bioavailability and rapid dissolution from a 250 mg dose, once daily. TurmXtra is also Clean Label Project certified, as it uses natural excipients and is derived from a solvent-free manufacturing process.

Several studies exhibited equivalence between TurmXtra and other curcumin products in terms of blood concentrations of curcuminoids, which allows it to be considered a replacement against large doses of conventional turmeric extracts. The ingredient was also evidenced to improve exercise-related muscle soreness.

This significantly benefits consumers by providing efficacy from a convenient once-a-day low dose.

“We are very proud to receive the patents for TurmXtra in our two leading markets, the U.S. and the U.K.,” said Rajat Shah, co-foudner and executive director of Nutriventia. curcumin product patent space is crowded with extract-composition formulas and their health applications; patents in this space also mainly cover the use of surfactants, oils or bioactive absorption enhancers. TurmXTRA stands out from these products because of its optimized low dose formulation using natural source carriers and use of a simple and cost-effective solvent-free process.”
