Designs for Health, a supplement brand in the healthcare practitioner channel, has launched two new women’s health formulations designed for various life stages.
 
The first product, ProbioMed Women, is a once-daily, highly concentrated probiotic with 25 billion CFUs of 10 clinically-studied strains which are evidenced to support a healthy vaginal pH, vaginal microflora, and GI microbial balance. The formula features 5 billion CFUs of Astarte, a proprietary blend of four bacterial strains typically found in healthy vaginal microbiota to help support a balanced vaginal microbial population. It also delivers a clinically-relevant dose of 10 billion CFUs of L. acidopholus DDS-1, a patented probiotic strain to help promote GI function and motility.
 
FemGuard-HF features two clinically-studied hormone-free phytoestrogens, genistein and HMRlignan. It also delivers gamma-oryzanol, which is evidenced to support menopausal symptoms, and DeltaGold-branded vitamin E tocotrienols, as well as taurine.
 
Genistein is clinically-evidenced to have therapeutic effects in women with menopause symptoms, thanks to chemical similarities to estrogen which help it bind to estrogen receptors in the human body and inhibit certain symptoms.
 
In another clinical study of 22 postmenopausal women, the group administered 72mg of HMRlignan per day for 4-8 weeks experienced a significant reduction in hot flashes and noted fewer hot flashes per week when compared to baseline.
