Herbaland Develops Probiotic Powder Sticks Featuring 10-Strain Blend

Each stick combines prebiotic fiber with 10 billion CFUs of a probiotic blend from Lallemand Health Solutions.

Herbaland Naturals has launched Daily Probiotic Powder Sticks, which are easy-melt powders formulated for adults and children ages 3 and above. The new product will be showcased for the first time at SupplySide West, and will be available for purchase in the U.S. and Canada beginning Nov. 15.

Each serving of one stick pack contains 10 billion colony forming units (CFU) of probiotic bacteria, featuring a blend of 10 clinically-studied strains. It also contains 520 mg of a prebiotic blend which supports the growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut. The sticks are available in strawberry shake and lemon clementine flavors, which can simply be poured into the mouth.

“These probiotic powder sticks are an excellent on-the-go alternative for people who have trouble swallowing pills and capsules,” said Katia Caballero, R&D research specialist at Herbaland. “They are also a good option for those who want to incorporate some fun into their supplement regimen.”

Herbaland partnered with Lallemand Health Solutions to develop the 10-strain blend of probiotics used in the supplement, which were selected due to their survivability in the presence of bile salts and stomach acid. The strains are also coated in Bio-Support Technology, a proprietary blend of proteins and polysaccharides that ensures the protection of probiotics throughout the manufacturing process, shelf-life, and journey through the digestive tract.

“We are fortunate to have a collaborative partnership with Lallemand to develop an efficacious problem-solver product,” said Joshua Sungkarto, R&D manager. “With their 80 years of expertise in probiotics, we can deliver ten scientifically backed probiotic strains safely, ensuring they survive the harsh body environment and reach our consumers’ gut in a fun way.”
