Solgar, a Nestlé Health Science brand with 70 years of history in vitamin and nutritional supplements, unveiled its Solgar Cellular Nutrition line of dietary supplements, developed to prevent cellular decline and promote cell health.

Three products, Energy, Strength & Renewal, and Protect, target cellular decline through clinically-studied ingredients, including nicotinamide riboside (NR), Urolithin A (UA), Glycine, and N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC).

“Scientific breakthroughs have led to the discovery of a time-dependent decline of several cellular mechanisms, which typically begins in our forties and accelerates in our sixties,” said Rania Abou Samra, global health of technology and development at Nestlé Health Science. “These scientific advances along with new cellular nutrition research led us to develop our new line of Solgar Cellular Nutrition products. These products, Energy, Strength & Renewal, and Protect, feature nutrients that work with the body’s natural processes deep inside cells to help fight sources of cellular decline and promote overall cell health. Now is the time to give your body the nutrients it needs to optimize cellular health for the years to come.”

Product Details

Cellular Energy is formulated to support cell energy, repair, and vitality with its key ingredient, Niagen nicotinamide riboside (NR), a precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), a coenzyme found in all living cells which is involved in cellular metabolism. A randomized controlled trial published in Scientific Reports found that NR supplementation increased levels of NAD in subjects within two weeks.

Cellular Strength & Renewal is designed to support muscle strength and mitochondrial function through the addition of Mitopure, a branded version of urolithin A. A 2022 randomized, controlled trial published in JAMA Network Open evidenced that treatment with UA improved muscle endurance for hand and leg skeletal muscles compared to placebo, along with improved biomarkers of mitochondrial health.

Cellular Protect is formulated to reduce oxidative stress through Solgar’s patented blend of glycine and N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC), called GlyNAC. In 2023, a randomized controlled trial found that GlyNAC reduced markers of oxidative stress and other hallmarks of aging, including changes to mitochondrial function.

“Our Solgar Cellular Nutrition launch is an example of how passion, science, and innovation collide to create truly remarkable products,” commented Aileen Stocks, President VMHS, Nestlé Health Science. “Solgar has always been in pursuit of bold innovations, and I’m proud to see the brand introduce a holistic line of products that go cell deep to nourish the body for longevity.”
