Kyowa Hakko, a subsidiary of Kirin Holdings, has opened an expanded citicoline manufacturing facility in Hofu, Japan. The milestone underscores the pivotal role of Cognizin, the branded citicoline ingredient. in the company’s future success, according to Yuki Kanzaki, president and CEO of Kyowa Hakko.
 
Cognizin is a popular ingredient marketed for its cognitive health benefits in both dietary supplements and functional foods. With the rise in popularity of cognitive health supplements, especially amid population aging and growth of the esports market, demand for citicoline has surged.
 
The new citicoline manufacturing facility will help the company continue meeting market demand, Kyowa Hakko reports, and will also provide more resiliency to its global supply network. The Kirin Group also intends to integrate citicoline into its upcoming product development initiatives.
 
In her address during the opening of the facility, Kanzaki said that it was a momentous day for the company’s future growth. Through the stable supply of citicoline, Kyowa Hakko can continue to contribute to products formulated for cognitive health, focus, and attention.
