TSI Group’s Enfinity Gets Informed Ingredient Certified

The caffeine metabolite, is certified as safe for use by athletes without adulteration or contamination.

Enfinity, a branded caffeine metabolite called paraxanthine marketed by TSI Group, has been given Informed Ingredient certification.

This third-party certification confirms that the ingredient is free from impurities and substances banned in sports nutrition products, via routine testing for a wide range of prohibited substances.

Enfinity, TSI Group reports, is considered a more effective alternative to caffeine, with clinical research supporting its role in mental performance under stress.

“Informed Ingredient certification is a proactive, consumer-driven initiative, and adds another layer of credibility and quality assurance for this already popular ingredient,” said Larry Kolb, president of TSI Group. “Combined with impressive science, it assures our customers that Enfinity is a next-generation ingredient that is both effective and safe for athletes to use.”

“This achievement showcases our commitment to providing the industry with a clean, best-in-class ingredient,” Shawn Wells, MPH, RD, LDN, CISSN, FISSN, spokesperson for Enfinity. “Informed Choice certification ensures every batch of Enfinity complies with current regulations and policies related to PEDs.”

Enfinity is backed by 23 patents filed, as well as six human clinical studies, and more preclinical work, TSI Group reports.

The studies provide evidence that the ingredient may:

  • improve energy, focus, and wakeful clarity;
  • reduce cognitive fatigue;
  • exert neuroprotective properties;
  • improve reaction time and mental errors;
  • reduce hunger;
  • increase caloric expenditure and thermogenesis;
  • lessen the side effects of caffeine with dramatically-reduced toxicity;
  • Provide more consistent results than caffeine, which has genetic variability and crashes.

Enfinity is less bitter than caffeine, making it easier to formulate with, and is gluten-free, allergen-free, vegetarian- and vegan-friendly, and kosher/halal certified.
