Waleria Healthtech will announce new clinical study results for its Shatavari ingredient, aspurūs, which indicate potential benefits for menopause.
Shatavari is an Ayurvedic herb known for its adaptogenic properties. The ingredient is a plant-based, non-hormonal option for consumers looking to manage their menopause symptoms without the side effects of synthetic treatments, according to the company. The ingredient is backed by clinical and pre-clinical data to support hot flashes, night sweats, stress, fatigue, and insomnia.
The new study found that shatavarins, the bioactive compounds in Shatavari, may support hormonal balance during menopause. The study used advanced computer modeling techniques to model how these compounds react with receptors of estrogen, progesterone, and follicle-stimulating hormone. The results lay a foundation for future research on Shatavari for hormonal health.
Earlier this year, the company also published a randomized, placebo-controlled study in Cureus Journal of Medical Sciences which investigated the role of aspurūs in managing menopausal symptoms. In 70 women in pre- and post-menopausal stages, women who took aspurūs reported an 85% reduction in hot flashes by week four, a 90% drop in night sweats by week eight, and a 60% improvement in sleep scores versus placebo.
“We are excited to showcase aspurūs at SupplySide West and showcase its potential for improving the well-being of women experiencing symptoms during different stages of menopause,” said Komal Baldwa, founder of Waleria. “Backed by clinical research for substantiated health benefits and now new foundational research for hormonal support, our traditional ayurvedic ingredient aligns with the growing demand for plant-based wellness products for innovative formulation in the women’s health category.”
