Tami Wahl Joins AHPA as Special Regulatory Counsel

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA), Silver Spring, MD, has appointed Tami L. Wahl in the newly created position of special regulatory counsel. 
 
In her role, Ms. Wahl will work within regulatory areas AHPA focuses on for the benefit of its members. She will work closely with AHPA’s regulatory team to support its current work and expand in other subjects to further promote the responsible commerce of botanicals. Ms. Wahl will also be the liaison for three of AHPA’s committees — Animal Products, Botanical Personal Care Products, and Tea & Infusion Products. 
 
She has more than 15 years of regulatory experience, with eight years spent exclusively in the natural products industry. Ms. Wahl was the legal and regulatory affairs manager and in-house counsel for Traditional Medicinals. Previously, she served as the legislative director for Alliance for Natural Health and as an attorney in private practice.

Ms. Wahl is an experienced legal counsel and regulatory adviser with extensive knowledge of the food and supplement industries, including requirements under the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Federal Trade Commission, Health Canada’s Natural Health Products Directorate, and California’s Proposition 65.
 
A true botanical advocate, she has worked at both the federal and state level and specializes in government relations, regulatory analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
